A unique way to experience one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
As one of The Guardian’s ’10 Best Small Scale Cruises’ St Hilda Sea Adventures has been bringing Scotland’s maritime wilderness to lucky travelers since 2007. They are a family-run business, operating annually from April to October. Small cruising allows guests to get closer to nature, to find tranquil coves, and explore hidden coastlines.
Recently named the most beautiful country in the world, Scotland’s west coast is a dramatic place – windswept, timestamped, and raw. With the Top 10 recognition, the Guardian added that ‘In most remote, tranquil bays, passengers will be joined by sea eagles, basking sharks, orcas, and dolphins. Days can be spent swimming, hiking, and sinking a shot of whisky or three.
With 3 small cruise ships, including the 82 ft Seahorse II, the St Hilda, a 52 ft ex-tall ship, and our new-to-us Gemini Explorer, a former Cruising Lifeboat. All vessels are designed for the rigors of the Scottish coast, the flexibility for changing conditions, and the comforts of a demanding market.
Choosing St Hilda Sea Adventures is choosing an environmentally friendly alternative. Their location is public-transit friendly, they leave no waste during any of their cruising, and they enforce a ‘look and leave alone’ policy with respect to local flora and fauna. Choosing St Hilda is making a choice in support of local business. Locally owned, locally operated and locally supplied.
They are operationally sound, ethically driven and undeniably best in class.
St Hilda Sea Adventures takes it’s guests to some of the most peaceful places in Scotland – to unspoiled bays, and the wild playgrounds for humpback whales, orca, basking sharks, dolphins, and porpoises.
Guests swim in quiet lochs, sample single malt whiskey, enjoy local fare, and sit back, relax and enjoy the magic that is old Scotland.
