This 12-day adventure takes you through the stunning national parks of Murchison Falls and Kidepo, stopping to explore community projects, women’s empowerment programs, among other cultural and heritage sites.

Through travelling on game drives, hikes, boat rides and more, you’ll take in the incredible beauty of this wonderful African country. Watch as a diverse array of wildlife go about their day, including ostriches, lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalos, birds and much more.

Enjoy your time in Uganda as you visit the communities of Karamojong, Upendo, Gulu and more while learning about the devastating insurgency of Kony in many of the places you visit. You’ll learn about and appreciate the extreme strength and resiliency of Ugandan people.

Day 1 | Welcome to Uganda

Today you will be picked up from Entebbe International Airport and transferred to Kampala. You may have the opportunity to visit the Uganda Education & Wildlife Centre or botanical gardesn. 

Stay tonight at Cassia Lodge.

Day 2 | Upendo Women Community

Today you will travel to Lira. After lunch, you'll visit the Upendo Arts & Crafts Centre where a women's group has come together to help promote the Lango culture by use of crafts, storytelling, and traditional dance. The group is made up of women who the majority have lost their husbands during the Kony insurgency. 

Through development of skills, the group empowers others and helps improve their quality of life.

Day 3 | Lango Culture & Historical Sites

After breakfast, enjoy visiting the first Lango settlement in Ngetta Hill, where it is believed the first Lango people settled where the rock stands. 

This afternoon, you'll visit Aboke Girls, a school that was ransacked by Kony. You'll also visit Barlonyo and the Lango Cultural Centre.

Days 4-5 | Murchison Falls National Park

On Day 4 you will travel to Masindi to visit Murchison Falls National Park. Enjoy an early game drive to look for wildlife including elephants, lions, giraffes, and more. 

Your time at Murchison Falls will show you a great time including a boat ride at the base of the falls, a hike to the top of the falls to witness it's incredible beauty.

Day 6 | Gulu

Today you'll travel to Kidepo and stop over at Gulu. The region was hit during the LRA Kony insurgency but has since recovered. You'll tour Gulu and visit the community projects. 

Visit the Wawoto Kacel Cooperative Society which facilitates empowerment, skills development, and nurturing of talent and creativity.

Day 7 | Kidepo National Park

After breakfast, travel to Kaabong, home of Kidepo Valley National Park. Tonight you'll enjoy a game drive through the Narus Valley. You may see elephants, buffalo, jackals and lions, among others. 

Stay tonight at Kidepo Savannah Lodge.

Day 8 | Kidepo National Park

Visit the Kidepo Valley National Park, home to 550 bird species and 77 different mammals. During a game drive today, you'll see an array of animals including ostriches, giraffes, cheetahs, lions, and buffalo. 

Stay tonight at Kidepo Savannah Lodge.

Day 9 | Karamojong Tribe Community

Today, visit the Karamojong Communities and witness the warrior tribe. You'll have a chance to dance with the community and visit their homes, or Manyattas.

Day 10 | Sipi Falls

Today after breakfast, you'll travel to Sipi in Eastern Uganda. These falls are surrounded by hiking trails and hills known for coffee growing. 

Stay tonight at Sipi River Lodge. 

Day 11 | Sipi Falls to Kampala City

Today after breakfast, head for a hike around the falls. A local guide will accompany you to the villages, plantations and caves while explaining the various traditions, flora and fauna of the region. The hike should take about 3 hours. 

After your hike, return to Kampala City.

Day 12 | End of Tour

Today you'll return home from Entebbe. If you are flying this evening, enjoy some cultural and historical sites in Kampala.
