Created for teens aged 15-18, this active expedition brings like-minded teens together to help expert researchers discover how the best ways to protect the Alpine environment from both human intrusion and climate change.
Hike through the beautiful Andorran Pyrenees, on a mission to collect data about the local plants and animals. Study the daily growth of plants, track biodiversity and enjoy exciting cultural excursions with your team!
While volunteering at this program, you will be part of the discovery of the incredible biodiversity that makes of the forests and meadows of the Pyrenees. Teens between the ages of 15 and 18 can help identify the main species of the ecosystem and how they are changing. You’ll collect data on small mammals, look for boreal owls and other bird species. Visit their nest boxes and watch for various species using binoculars. In addition to the animal species, you’ll study flora, survey snowbed vegetation, and follow the growth of trees. All of these activities are important to help researchers discover how animals are surviving and how best to protect them.
This program is available to adult groups and teen groups. Teen groups all include supervision so parents can rest easy knowing their kids are well taken care of.
