Do you want an adventure but can’t choose between the Seychelles and coastal Thailand? No worries!
Here is a 24-week internship that gives you the training to gain your PADI Divemaster certification, in addition to an incredible introduction to marine conservation.
While diving into the crystal clear blue waters, you’ll learn about marine surveys, coral reef monitoring and research on turtle breeding areas. Your core training will be conducted on the beautiful island of Mahe in the Seychelles before you set off to apply your new skills in Phang Nga, Thailand. Use your free time to explore and discover the magnificent coastlines and cultures that surround you!
GVI Internship programs focus on the development of professional skills while providing a well-rounded conservation experience.
Your First 12 Weeks During your expedition phase, you will live at our base on Mahe Island, one of two GVI bases in the Seychelles. Depending on weather conditions, we aim for everyone to have 1 or 2 dives/snorkels each day, 5 days a week, during which you will conduct underwater surveys after completion of your training. Besides diving, you should expect to be involved in additional projects and activities, including training sessions, marine debris surveys and removal, environmental education session or alternative income training, depending on local and project needs at the time. The days are rounded off with an evening debrief, followed by dinner and time to relax, take in a beautiful sunset and share stories.
