The Scarlet Macaw is characterized by its red, blue and yellow feathers and size. They have white skin that surrounds the eyes and reaches to their bills. They feed on nuts, seeds, and fruits; however, during the breeding season may also feed on larvae. Scarlet Macaws often gather at clay licks. They may often weigh on average, 1 kilogram.
